Does anyone know if you can get the cabin filter yet for the 2013s? We bought a 2013 1500 Laramie CrewCab May 18 and the parts dept at the dealership said they were not available yet. The filter cover was different than the 2012s.

Cabin Ari Filter works fine.

Hi, a number of members including myself have done the mod, I ordered
(p/n 68052292AA). - $15.00 cabin air door - and picked up the filter from a local car supply - took me about 30 minutes .. works great .. virtually no dust/dirt in the truck.
Filter p/n 05058693AA.

You can checkk the link here: http://www.ramforumz.com/showthread.php?t=90637

There are also Youtube videos available.

Regards

Ummm .. good question .. I have noticed a drop in flow when drawing air from the outside .. but I tend to keep it on re-circulation most of the time - as it is getting hot here and I like maximum cold inside .. when it is drawing outside air it does seem a bit less then when I did not have the filter.

what a joke. ANY MOPAR part you install on your vehicle will not. WILL NOT void warranty. the Mopar parts and accessories actually come with a warranty and will fall under your current vehicle warranties. your vehicle is Mopar no reason you cant put something made by Mopar for your Mopar.

thats like saying hey you can buy my xbox but if you use a controller it will void your warranty like come on !

i think that guy needs to get his stuff in order.

Just finished this mod tonight. A bit of the pain cutting the opening closest to the passenger door but well worth the effort if it cuts down on the sand dunes that have been collecting on the dash.

Make sure you remove your watch if you wear one, it is a bit tight in there and easy to smack it on something

Edit: Forgot to mention, didn't notice any reduction in airflow afterwards.

I'll be ordering my air filter kit from Geno's Garage soon. I'm not dealing with a lot of dust in the interior yet, but I want to get ahead of the game once it starts to dry out in this part of the region.

I got my kit from Geno's Garage yesterday and installed it in less than 20 mins.

Thanks Plum. I'll be checking that out later. I don't want to tear something up in the process of making an improvement.

Our business has a 2012 3500 RAM that I will be doing this mod on. It however has no cover below the fan motor and will be easy to access.

Besides keeping dust from collecting on the interior of the trucks, I am hoping this will be an aid to keep the A/C evaporator coil clean too. We had to have the evap. coil replaced on our 2008 RAM 2500 because it became plugged with all the dust flowing over the damp coil. Dust turns to mud then the coil becomes blocked over time. There is no mod like this for our older trucks. I've instructed my employees to leave the air flow on recircuate to avoid this when using the A/C.
You have to pull the entire dash out to replace the heater or A/C coil and it becomes a very expensive repair at the dealership.

It does kind of suck that you have to do this yourself, but it is fairly easy to do. Took me about 1/2 hour to complete the install. IMHO, it's worth it. :smiley_thumbs_up:

Hi all, I agree .. the mod was simple .. took just a few seconds to remove the glove box door .. took about 30 mins to cut out the plastic .. drop in the filter .. pop on the door cover over the cut out .. really does a great job in keeping the dash and all of the interior space nice and clean .. really glad that I did it .. :)
