i'm having a hard time finding these online. seems like it's much easier for other vehicles. would like to know what the "official" times are for the different trims/engines (5.7L V8 Hemi, CC, 3.92, 6 speed auto specifically would be great). My guess for mine would be sub-7 seconds.

my wife's 2010 VW tiguan is officially listed at 6.7 seconds. would like to know how my new truck stacks up.

I believe I remember reading somewhere that it is about 7.4. But that is just off the top of my head.

Lordy just use a digital watch (or stopwatch)

Use the timer function on any digital watch and STOMP on your gas pedal, have your passenger listen to you as you hit 60 and have the co-pilot hit STOP on the watch - just run 2-3 passes and get an average.
Not rocket science - good fun too.

There's a comparo review on youtube where they compare the 2013 GM, FORD and RAM crew cab times using real world testing and the RAM Hemi, 8 spd crew cab 4x4 did it in 7.6 seconds. the Ecoboost did it in 7.4. The Hemi was easier to launch properly so the 7.6 will probably be easier to achieve more often then with the lag of the ecoboost.

I have a new 13 Ram 1500 Sport Crew for the record.

I had a 2011 F150 SCrew ecoboost that I traded in for this truck. With a tune, turbo back exhaust, and intake.....with 34" tires, I did a 0-60 in 4.9 seconds.

Stock to stock the two are very comparable in power IMO. The ecoboost would destroy the Hemi off the line, but the top end of the Hemi pulls pretty hard. I feel like I really have to gouge the gas of the Ram to have any decent acceleration.

lol I hate to do this but I call bullshit on the ecoboost taking the RAM's HEMI on take off:smiledown: I test drove all makes and models of trucks in the months of January and Febuary 2013 before pulling the trigger on another RAM. IMO that V6 ecoboost was a piece of junk, it didn't compare to a V8 in anyway shape or form. Not trying to be an A-Hole, its JMO lol

In the last couple of years it feels like the Horsepower race is on with a fury. Just think 10 years 0-60 in 8-9 seconds in an average vehicle was pretty good now modern cars are doing it in 5.5-7 seconds which was pretty much the 0-60 time of a Lancer Evo X

The 340 hp Hemi Ram trucks have been tested in the 7.4 second range 0-60
I think I've seen the 390 hp Ram's tested at as fast as 6.9 seconds.

My guess is, with a good tester behind the wheel, a well broken in engine (at least 3k miles) at sea level and no wind, the 2013's with the 8 speed auto should
do 0-60 in the 6.6 second range.

I've seen the Ecoboost Ford's do it in as little as 6.2 seconds.

I've driven all of them and the Ford is fast off the line.
But as one owner here has said, the new Hemi actually pulls harder than the Ecoboost Ford in the higher rpms (which it should since it has 30 more hp...rated anyway, probably only 10-15 hp really).
But once rolling and at rpms above 4000 rpms, the Hemi seems to (and has been shown in tests) to pull harder than the Ecoboost.

But as we all know, turbos are easy to tune and make big power from, so once tuned the Hemi will have no chance even up top against the Ecoboost.

And I've read that for 2015 (releasing in April or May 2014) will be "the next generation Ecoboost 3.5 with even more power and better fuel economy"

So I won't be surprised to see a 10-15 hp increase and a 1 mpg better gas mileage.

It just doesn't have the sound of a V8

Everyone I know with an ecoboost has had nothing but problems with them and regret buying them, not only that good luck getting Ford to fix them. One buddy talked to a Ford mechanic and he said its a well known fact around Ford they are all junk but they still pump them out. All these guys are Ford guys and have no problem telling it like it is.

Really?

I have an '11 4x4 ecoboost xlt with 60k trouble free miles. Hell tires still have 10k left on them. I also know many people with the ecoboost and the only complaint is the fuel mileage isn't that great. I am getting 18 avg and that seems to be consistent with most. The engines are very stout, they are basically diesel engines that run on gas. Direct injection, high pressure fuel rails, etc. Even the transmission they pair with the engine is overbuilt (rated for 800ft lb).

Truck has been driven hours in snow storms, up and down many mountains, driven on the beach, towed heavy many times, it has done everything I have asked and kept going.

Only reason I want a dodge is the new diesel engine coming out. I always said whoever puts a diesel in a half ton will get my business (that's why I bought an ecoboost). I am hoping it will pull down low like the ecoboost, that low end torque puts a smile on my face.

I just tested a 2013 Ram Big Horn Hemi with 3.55's and 6 spd auto today.
With just 17 miles on the odometer and running 87 Octane fuel, instead of 89 as recommended, I got a
0-60 in 7.3 seconds.

So just as I figured, with 89 Octane it would probably of been 7.2
and with some break in mileage and the "anti spin" Limited Slip Diff,
I can see a 0-60 time of 6.9 seconds.

And again, as I mentioned, I'd think the 8 speed auto will do it in 6.6 seconds
with it's better gearing.

My 2014 Ram 1500 QC 5.7 Hemi does 0-60 in 6.9 seconds.
That is in South Florida heat, 95 degree ambient temp.
I have the following mods:
Mopar CAI, Magnaflow 14" cat back, Diablo Trinity with HemiFever tune, 87 mm ported throttle body, jet 180 thermostat, catch can, Kenwood DNXS571 nav, xm, DVD, Bluetooth
Tint all around.
Rockstar 20"s & Leather int next :)

i live in ford country. there are quite a few trouble free ecoboosts out there. imo, the engine is pretty good. the proof for me will be when they start seeing 125000 miles plus. i also believe the pentastar has a long way to go before the engineers are done with it and it will outshine the ecoboost. it was designed to have a turbo. for now though, lovinging my hemi.

What i want to know is all the eco boost guy(s) have to say about the new 1500 r/t. If I'm correct they even dropped down to the 3.92 gearing. * 5.4 sec *

So when I see an Eco boost, I just make sure the t/c is on and punch it. It's a good hoot knowing their truck cost 15k more and and slower. If you're buying a truck for mpg's there's that new Nissan with the 2.8 diesel motor, go with that.
