B&G PCM review...

OK, so I have had the new PCM installed for a couple weeks now. As promised I would give you guys thinking about it a complete review so here goes...

Initial order:

The guys over the phone are easy to deal with as I said before. He is kinda quick to get off the phone, but that's understandable considering they are the only tuning option for us and I'm sure they are swamped. They flashed my PCM and returned it to me the same day. Shipped UPS ground it took 3 working days for me to recieve it.

Ease of install:

This part could not be easier! Again I have already covered this but just reviewing everything. It couldn't have been easier.

Drive test:

Well, this is where it gets tricky. I have only rode in one 4th gen with a predator and it was quite a bit lighter than me so I have a hard time comparing what the predator gives you vs what this gives you but I can definately tell a difference. The motor seems to rev easier, the throttle response is much better, my low end has improved, and it's noticably faster. I don't know how much exactly but the butt dyno says it's quicker for sure!

Biggest surprise:

My MPG went up! To all you guys that claim 20MPG in a 4x4 I don't believe you! ha ha. My average with my driving style was around 14-15. The EVIC would read anywhere from 14.6 to 15.1 on average. To my shock I am sitting at 17.2 right now on the EVIC. I guess this can be attributed to the improved a/f. Obviously something drastically changed in the computer for that to exist so it just reiterates the butt dyno.

The DYNO numbers:

Okay, here is what you all really wanted. It was a hair over 80, 63% humidity, and we had to do the pulls in 2nd prime because the speed limiter was at 140. I was hoping for better numbers, but with less humidity and actually being able to run it in 3rd gear where the ratio is 1:1 I think that 345/350 is a believeable number. Here you go...

As you can see the a/f is pretty good, and the torque curve is pretty nice. I was impressed with it on a PCM flash that's for sure. I lose a lot in drivetrain so there numbers are pretty decent to me.

Negatives:

I don't think they flashed everything. The shift points, firmness, etc didn't change and I want them to raise the speed limiter but other than that I am pretty pleased with it. If I continue to be happy then I'll add a cam shortly...

Anything I missed just ask...

That seem impressive for a flash. wat other mods do u have

20+ mpg can be done if you keep your foot out of it that is doing 55mph to 65mph. I proved it this weekend and I did manage to get up to 21+ till I hit town. Did you happen to dyno before you put the pcm in because I would like to see the side by side comparison.

Great Dyno numbers for just a flash!

Also how do you guys manage to get such good MPGs?
I only get 14 to 15 MPG and that's 80% highway and only 11 MPG in the city...

Where can I get 2010 PCM (05150500AA) for $185? please sign me up...

I was going to replace the factory Y with magnaflow awhile ago but just never got to go through with it...so last couple days was looking around forums and youtube and I think I am just gonna go with DI/DO muffler instead and get rid of the Y-pipe altogether. Can't decide between magnaflow 12468 and 12568...I just don't want any drone as i do drive good amount on freeways, so for those reasons I'm leaning towards 12568 muffler. I just can't comprehend why Dodge put that disgrace of a y-pipe and the monstrosity of a stock muffler while they could have had a nice true dual exhaust with a DI/DO muffler instead.

I bought a 2010 PCM on eBay and had it flashed to my truck. My stock PCM still works normally. Whenever I am going to have to take it in for service I will just swap out and put the stock one back in.
Question, is it possible to have a PCM flashed for more torque? the reason being is that I have a 2011 Hemi with 4:10 gears and 35's, everything works fine, but I do tow from time to time and could use more torque.
