it's your truck and do what pleases you!
I de-badged the GMC Dmax I had, and the Power Wagon I just purchased came badging delete with just the HEMI badge, I seem to prefer it that way, but I am going to add the chrome "POWER WAGON" lettering to the tailgate
I ditched the chrome badging and only replaced the RAM with OEM black emblems. On the tailgate I removed the 4x4 and replaced the Ram head with a black one.
This looks good. I am worried about deleting all badges but think I am going to go with the RAM like this in black. Need to mark before I take the others off or I will never get them back on right.
Sometimes its cheaper to get something extra you don't want; my wife and I only have cell phones but we have a landline because its cheaper than just getting cable and internet.:4-dontknow:
I think if Ram offered a debadge option for like $50 they'd make money hand over fist
I actually asked if there was a sales code for badge delete, and was told no. I also inquired about blackout tape delete, as it's listed on the build sheets on black trucks. Apparently not an 'orderable' option... If anybody has info to the contrary, I'd like to know if it's possible.
Removed the "1500" only. Way back when if you had a chevy Biscayne you wouldn't flaunt the bottom of the line model whereas Impalla SS could stay. So why is 1500 important? If I had a 2500 I'd probably have left it.
I think it all depends on the accent color. i.e if you have chrome bumpers and have chrome badges, then it should stay. But if you have color match bumpers and chrome badges, them either black them out or remove them.
I think because they are more subtle a lot of people find it to give it just the right amount of badging; its the same tape holding them on. I think they look good-I even added a Hemi badge to my rollaway.
Maybe they also don't want people thinking they drive a V6
If you use the correct adhesive remover it won't matter how long the badges have been on. 3M adhesive remover is by far the best product for removing adhesive, in my opinion. I have hero have a badge removal take more than 30 minutes, and that includes waxing where they once were.
I took my badges off. I thought FCA went a little crazy with the size and amount of badging in one location. It looked too gaudy to me. I just removed from the side and left the grill and tailgate alone.
I think that would look good if it had Black Paint on the words Ram and edition with the chrome background. :4-dontknow:
But as it is makes it awful gaudy as Nevada Mike says.
I also have a white sport like yours. I can't stand all the badging with the 1500 and RAM and HEMI... I think it looks ridiculous. But so far my laziness and time constraints have won out over my hatred of all that advertising. I did pull off the dealer sticker on the first day from the rear end.
I've considered pulling all of the badging and just adding back the RAM after I paint it black, if I don't like the totally stripped look. Or can I just buy black letters?
You can buy the ram logo black since there is a black out edition, but as for the rest you would have to paint our plasti dip them if you want them black.
I tend to like the chrome badges. But I also prefer chrome wheels to black painted, with the exception to black trucks. Then completely debadge for a smooth look. Just my opinion. :gy:
