Sound an worse gas mileage. Before i got my k&n cai i jus had their drop in filter an actually did see a 1-2mpg increase when i drove smart. Now my problem is loving the sound of cai mixed with having a tuner and not keeping my foot off the gas.. But if you are having to sale the idea to someone so you can get it say you will get better gas mileage worked for me with both tuner an cai.. Now to use that for a new exhaust..

The stock intake is a TRUE cold-air-intake. So just get a good drop in filter and you should be good. I say this but i'm running the k&n 63 and its mostly for looks/sound

Totally agree with everyone here. You NEED a custom CAI!

Here is what you get...
1 - You get to spend lots of money on truck stuff... feed your addiction
2 - You get a really cool sounding truck
3 - You will be unable to keep your foot off the floor on the accelerator side
4 - you will get to buy more gas and more often
5 - you will get to post about it here and everyone will congratulate you!

I went the MOPAR route. $350 from dealership. Took about 2 hrs to put in. Pain in the arse!!! Have the dealer put in my opinion. Sounds wicked. Have lead foot in my truck now. Love speeding up. Only pro I c is maybe +1-2 MPG city. But my beauty gets up and goes real quick. Ill post a pick of install after I get off from work. :)

The noise from MDS is from the exhaust and I had my MDS turned off through my custom tune.

I don't know if we are talking about the same noise but the only noise my truck ever made that I didn't like (most on here will agree) was after installing an aftermarket muffler the MDS makes a drone. If you hear this noise put your truck in 6th gear or use your tow-h and it goes away. Then yes that's the MDS. You can just drive with your truck in 6th gear or get a tuner and turn it off.

chris b thanks for the reply i dont have an after mkt. muffler even if i put it in 6 or tow mode the drone noise is present i dont want to spend the money for a tuner so i have to leave with the noise if i can only convince the dealer to turn the m.d. s. off maybe is the big question tanks again for your reply

Now moncho, you do know you can disable your MDS right as you put it in drive right? Just simply hold the center console shifter to the left for a couple of seconds and you will see your EVIC display go to 1 instead of D. If you have the column shifter, you just hold down the downshift/negative button until your EVIC reads 1 and then bump up to whatever gear you wish to not go above. Around town, I just leave it in 4th if my speeds don't go above 45mph. At 50, I'll bump up to 5th and over 65, I'll put her in 6th. The whole time, no MDS kicking in.
