Black out my chrome and put on fender flares?

Looking for suggestions/ideas. I have a red 2012 1500. I love it. But I'm not so sure I love the chrome. I think chrome looks great on a black truck, but not as good on red. I'd like to either darken or black out the chrome. (bumpers, grille, door handles) Would it look good though?

I also know for sure id like to put on some bushwacker pocket style fender flares, but I'm debating on getting black ones or body color.

What do you guys think would look great?

I think that i would start by removing the emblems reading RAM 1500
i always thought the 1500 part looks strange

as for the bumpers, i think that i would get them painted or powder coated
I think i like the metal front bumper & getting it painted will still give you the strength, without all that chrome look
I am always wondering if my plastic bumper will even stand up to a slight bump

I would get the fender flares body colored. Debadge it like GTyankee stated, and probably leave the bumpers chrome. You have and awesome truck and to do the bumpers black..would make it look like a cheaper version of the badass truck you bought! Not bashing the guys with those bumpers, but you paid extra for that chrome! Or you could always get them painted body color also would look awesome. lol

I like both but it depends on the model of Ram. On the Express and Sport models, body color bumpers and grill = no chrome (but I wouldn't black out the Ram head). On the Laramie and Big Horn editions where you have chrome bumpers, grill, and door handles - I like the chrome. I've added chrome mirror covers and bug sheild to my white Big Horn and grill inserts. I have rims on order but they are bright polished silver (not chrome but close).

Chrome don't get 'ya home...and it may also be the work of the devil! LOL

Black fender flares - I covered this in another thread.

I'd ditch the chrome bumpers and go with maybe some aftermarket offroad bumper.
