you don't understand the jealousy i have right now.

you are like the 3rd guy to finally lift then sell the truck not too Long after. definitely a better upgrade for sure tho
I am sure my jealousy level is about the same as yours right now.

I am having serious thoughts about discontinuing mods and start saving that money towards a cummins.. AHhh.

That truck looks amazing.. Congrats:smileup:.. I want to steal it, but would take way to long to get out to b.c:LOL:.. Can't wait to see your future plans for this truck.

Thanks guys!!
Thanks bud! Definitely a long drive to attempt to steal my truck that you can't get in to :gy:
I'd say if you can make it happen, start saving up for the Cummins man. Definitely worth it. It's a whole different league of truck. So nice to have.
Lol I know people that can make a truck vanish but they usually cap off at 500km distance:doh:....
Yea I love driving 3/4 and 1 tons... We have an 08 F350 powerstroke and a 98 3/4 cummins.. Heavennn.

you are definitely right. But at least Brandon pulls the racecar him and his dad have. so it's not like he's rolllin around in a 3500 for no reason haha. If I got a HD truck, I'd definitely have me a boat to pull behind it. I'd make sure I needed that big of a truck. Then of course I'd have a gas getter car. One day, one day.

for now any boat I want/get will be just fine behind my 1500. looking at 17' center consoles now.
If your gonna be getting an HD truck.. It has to turn from 17' to like 47'.. With rods and downriggers mounted all the way around... Was down fishing at the lake the other day and this boat for sale just happened to drive by us... Take out a small bank loan and make it work.

Is this for real?
Lol
Guy I know has about 3 escalades sitting in parts in the field behind his house.. and his "99" Chev SCSB only original part is the cab.. Probably bout 30 different chevs in it... If I had a Chev I could get any parts for dirt cheap:i_rolleyes:

But yea, vehicle theft is very common in my area, there is a Chevy graveyard bout 20 mins from my house.. And I have some sketchy friends with some real sketchy connections.. This is why I have my 2-way alarm.

And Brandon.. Truck looks much better without the boards and mudflaps for sure:smileup:

"Haha, ya trust me, I've found lots of motivation for this build. Unfortunately my wallet can't keep up with my ideas "

i think that goes for about 90% of the members here.
And this is why credit cards and online shopping are dangerous.

And Brandon.. Everytime I see a new post I am instantly here hoping to see a new mod.. Jeez in a year or 2 your truck will look insane.

Exactly. I've been watching tons of videos on youtube of deleted 6.7's and it just gets me stoked to do it. Especially Salt N Vinegars (if you've seen his video he posted on the forum). That video was one of the things that pushed me even harder to buy my truck.

Once I get these few issues resolved with my dealer I'll probably end up deleting it. I already did a few calculations and figured I'll probably save around $1000 a year in fuel by deleting. So within 2 years it's going to pay for itself. Plus like you said it's just way cooler and nicer to drive and easier on the engine.
Whenever I see Salt N Vinegars video I go online and look up prices for used 2010+ Cummins and imagine how I could work it out... I wanna Roll Coal:sad:.. I love the Hemi. but a Cummins is so much better.. I love driving my work trucks... And once you get all the deletes and tunes on.. You better post some vids of your truck just roaring to push me even more

Haha ya. I've probably watched that video about 50 times now, no joke. It just gets me so stoked to do the deletes and tune my truck. WAY too cool!

I definitely will be posted a video once I get it tuned a deleted. I bet you'll be in a Cummins 2 weeks after it ;) haha.
I have told myself I would wait 2 years so I could hunt down a 6 speed 2012 cummins used with low KM that some rich old guy bought and never used for anything except the odd trailer tow.. By then I will hopefully have enough mula built up and be done school to swing it.. And then.. The fun begins.:bud:

Am I considered a traitor as I read this convo on diesels while sitting in my work f350. I also notice the clicking sound the odd time like your talking about Brandon when I drive this.

And Brandon as much as I just wanna say rip the damn thing out and delete it. I would recommend holding off for a bit because you drive a ton of km's. Give the truck a few months to fully break in and catch up to that large amount of driving .

Truck looks great man.. Nice job detailing.. and that car looks like it just belongs on the back of your truck lol.. great combo.

On the topic of that wax.. I had it and honestly I do hate it.. I used to be a detailer for my dads GM dealership and then my first few years working at the RV dealership I did the detailing on trailers/ motorhomes and have tons of experience waxing and this stuff just always made me mad .... On my old 08 pontiac torrent identical to this-
http://pictures.dealer.com/w/woodbinenissantc/0126/08d02b89ea06796b28744de057bc7249x.jpg

I would always get swirl marks or just not look right no matter if I did hand/ machine or any other way. Also had the same problem with my moms dark blue GMC acadia. Maybe it was just a bad batch of wax or something.. But I stay clear and now just sneak the wax we use on RV's as it works amazing and comes off easier then anything I have ever used.

Thanks bud!

Ya I don't think I'll be buying this wax again. I thought I'd give it a shot but it hasn't impressed me like I hoped. I just don't want to waste a $30 bottle of wax so this trucks at least going to get a few coats of it. I figure it's a good wax to use over the winter since I just want it to protect the paint more than look good. If we get another nice weekend here soon I'll probably throw a couple more coats on it and then it will be good to go.

I haven't had any issues with it leaving swirl marks or anything. As far as that side of things go it works very well. Maybe you did have a bad batch :4-dontknow: I just find that it doesn't go on very thick and doesn't last as long as it should. That's why I plan on caking a few more layers on.

One product I've used in the past that I'll probably order up again is called Jax Wax. It is by far the most amazing wax I've ever used. Super simple and easy to use and provides AMAZING results. Plus it can be applied in the sun on a hot surface which is a bonus if you don't have a covered area to be waxing in. Once this Tech 2.0 wax is done I'll be ordering up another bottle of Jax Wax.
I have heard of that Jax Wax before and heard good things about it.. But ya the tech 2.0 has been sitting in my garage on a shelf untouched for a while now .. Never even tested it on my truck.. My torrent had a hard paint to keep clean because it has such a high gloss level.. so any imperfections were noticed like a swirl mark.. Especially when I am looking for them. The acadia is a vehicle where one light it looks perfect no swirls or anything.. Another.. Terrible.. But both vehicles are/were hard paint to keep clean compared to even black... One reason I love silver... Such an easy colour to maintain and keep clean.

Holy!!! 2 weeks of not being on here and there are a crap ton of pages...lol

Just lift the truck already ;)
8" BDS long arm and buy the add ons later when you got the rest of the cash
Mr expert saleman comes out of the blue over here :LOL.
But in all seriousness.. I agree with Andrew on the 8" BDS long arm... Maybe just sell yourself at a street corner for a few weeks to get the tire money too.. Would help speed up the progress.

I don't even know what to say to that

Right now I'm focusing more on performance stuff rather than suspension/wheels/tires. I want to get all the deletes and stuff done before I even think about the full lift. Plus I'll want to get AMP steps on it and a few other things like that on first too.
As far as the leveling goes I've been thinking about just throwing spacers and a track bar on it and call that good until I lift it. We'll see though.... My plans and ideas change a lot. Lol. Right now it's looking like I'll be ordering up the H&S MiniMaxx within the next few days.

Andrew, were you or Eric able to find anything out about getting an H&S MiniMaxx race tuner? I haven't heard back from either of you on that.
I am just trying to suggest how to improve ones income and make the most money out a day.. Didn't say anything about it being a respectful proper job.. But mod money is mod money at the end of the day I guess? lol

I am excited to see the mini-maxx, deletes and performance mods all done up on it.. Will need some video footage of coal rolling and drive by's to hear it roar... The AMP steps will look awesome on it. At the meet on the weekend LowUFO was telling my girlfriend about them on Andrews truck and she was trying to convince me to get them if I am lifting it.. Told her she is getting a step ladder or a rope ladder that drops out when the door is open.:hah:

Haha yup!! :pepper: It's officially the start of all the performance mods (or at least a good chunk of them).

The one thing you might find a little disappointing though is that because I went with custom tunes from Draconian Diesel it won't be rolling coal. The fuel mapping in the tunes are changed to be much more efficient and safer for the engine so therefore no over fueling to cause the black smoke. So that's one downside... but the power and quality of the tunes definitely makes up for it. Plus the versatility and customization options of having MCC are totally worth it.
I know a guy with a 2012 cummins who hangs out with me and my friends randomly (him and some guy with a slammed g35 will show up and chill.. No clue of their names) and he works at a performance offroad shop and has his cummins all done up with a custom tune and he was telling me about that and how it won't roll coal because of the tune with the 6.7 and being more effiecient and such. Maybe one day you can get another tune to roll coal the odd time for shits and giggles.

And just to inform you, I am living my dream cummins build through your truck and build thread until I get out of school and can afford my own:LOL:

Are you thinking about straight piping it?

Ya that's one thing I was thinking about doing. Maybe down the road when I've done head studs and a few other performance mods I'll talk to Draconian again and see if he can send me a tune that will smoke a bit just for fun. Shouldn't be too hard to make that happen. Really all he would have to do is send me a tune with the same parameters as the standard hot tune that comes on the H&S.

For now I'd rather play it safe to keep my head gasket in tact as well as the rest of the engine. The street performance tune that I'm getting will give me about 125 HP and a couple hundred ft-lbs and is still safe to run on an otherwise stock truck. I figure those are some pretty good numbers for a DD. lol.

Haha, good stuff man! You'll be done sooner than you know it and have a Cummins of your own

Ya right now I'm thinking I'll be straight piping it. It will be 4" exhaust for sure as I like the raspy tone of it much better than a 5". I just don't know if a straight pipe is going to be too loud for the everyday highway driving that I do. I found an aFe turbo back kit that comes with a muffler and a delete pipe so I might end up getting that one so I have the option of both.
It is insane what a tune can do with a diesel.. Whole other level compared to the hemi tunes. Some great numbers for a DD.. Just wondering though.. Does the tuner still come with the standards tunes or only the custom tune?

And eithor way with the exhaust you can't go wrong. I will say do the straight pipe just because I just love loud.. But with hwy driving all the time, best first hear how they both sound before making the final choice.

And if all goes right with school and my plan, next september I will be out in Alberta on a fully paid co-op with all living and everything paid for 4-12 months at the oil fields. So then sometime in between there or after.. I am tracking down a 2010-2012 Cummins like yours.. Hopefully can find one with manual tranny and low KM's.. Then my play time will begin. Until then.. 6" lift and new headlights for my Hemi.

Yes it definitely is a huge step up from gas tuning. When ordering a tuner from Draconian with custom tunes he has a library of tunes that you can pick from. There's probably around 12-14 different tunes plus he has modifiers that he can add to each tune. So the MiniMaxx will still display the tunes as stock, tow, street, and performance but the tunes that I have behind those will be custom. So I have mine set up like this:

Stock = custom mileage tune - 40hp
Tow = custom tow tune - close to stock
Street = custom street tune - 100hp
Performance = custom street performance tune - 125hp

Down the road I will add a big tire modifier to all my tunes to help it out once I add the 35's and then later on the 37's or 38's. I might also look into a higher performance tune (he has a number of ones that will run higher than 125hp) but I didn't want those right now without doing some other mods to be able to handle that power first. Draconian also has 2 sound modifiers that are fairly popular. One is the 12v sound and one is a lope tune. I opted not to get either of those as I think the lope tune is ridiculous and I'm not a huge fan of the 12v sound. I would have got it if I would have been something I could just add whenever I felt like it, but it would be locked to one of my tunes and I didn't want that. You can youtube Draconian Diesel and you'll find lots of sound clips of those.

Exactly. I'm definitely leaning towards the kit with the straight pipe and muffler. I'll run the straight pipe first and see how it is. If it's too loud or droney then I'll have to put the muffler on. Even with the muffler it will still be loud though. It's a straight through design muffler and is meant to eliminate drone more than anything.

Sweet man! That will be cool! I've thought about running out to Alberta for a year or two to make some good cash. I just don't know if it would be worth it for me over what I have here....
You should be able to find a Cummins out in Alberta no problem. TONS of guys have them out there, especially in the oil fields. It's just a matter of finding one that's in good shape.
Thats crazy, I am gonna have to do some studying of his tunes.. It is mind blowing of all the stuff and possibilities.. My one bud runs a EGF Live or EFI Live.. whatever it is lol.. Cool when he is uses it.. but nothing real cool.... With testing both exhaust styles, you will understand what you want and will be all good.

With Alberta, it seems like you already found yourself a great job with alot of potential out in BC.. The position i am in schooling for is always in demand out there, jobs here too.. but better pay out west .. Do it for a few years, collect my cash, see some crazy people.. And then come back to ontario, settle down and have me my cummins

The head company that owns our rv dealership owns tons of dodge dealerships and such.. So I will pull some strings and test my luck. Wonder if you could actually remove the DEF fluid tank and such?

Draconian is working on a website right now but it's not up and running yet. The main place to find the information on them is CumminsForum. The have a vendor section on there with tons of threads to read through.
Ya it's EFI Live. I haven't done a lot of research on that but my understanding is that it's the older version of MCC tuning and isn't quite as advanced. Not totally sure though....

Exactly, that's why I'm hesitant to leave. I know I have a lot of potential here and I definitely can't complain about my job. At the end of this week I'll have been here for a full year so I'm hoping for a bit of a raise. We'll see how that goes though. :LOL

Good plan. There's definitely money to be made in the praries right now. Obviously the oil and pipeline industry out there is huge but even construction companies are paying big bucks out there to try and get guys to come out. Construction laborers are starting at $24/hour in Saskatchewan. That's ridiculous!

It is possible to remove the DEF tank and system... I know you can do it on the 2012 Chassis Cabs. The issue is the new ECM on the 2013+ trucks.... no one has been able to fully crack the code yet to make a tuner available for them. But it's bound to happen eventually.... it's just a matter of when. The main problem you're going to run in to as time goes on is how the EPA is cracking down on stuff in the states. That's making it harder and harder to get delete stuff and of course it's jacking the prices up. So if it gets to the point where companies aren't even allowed to sell deletes anymore then there might not ever be delete options for 2013+ trucks....
Ya you do got yourself a solid job. And even if you don't get a raise soon, you will one in time being and the potential to move up in the company.. And BC is much better then saskatchewan.. Cold winters and could never run away from the cops because they would still be able to see you in the distance 4 day later:LOL:.. Is for sure a great starting pay though. I am going for non-destructive engineer technician, so the oil fields go hand and hand with it.

My bud with the EFI tune has an early 2000's duramax that is in real good condition with straight pipe exhaust, few minor mods and the same MBRP 5" tip as me :hah:.

I will have to venture over to the cummins forum sometime and see what all the big boys are doing to their trucks lol.

We have an identical cargo trailer like that at work and we got it stuck towing it with our 04 2500 hemi RWD QCLB up a steep hill in the rain... Can't even tell it is on your truck. I know what you mean about tight spots and tow mirrors.. I leave mine flipped all the time because I'm a jackass like that.. Holy hell I am the width of a tank.
