Using the current EFI will depend on the cam profile and heads more than anything. Are you looking for a stock spec replacement or something with a few more ponies?

 

Nothing real crazy but maybe a few more. The ening thats in it now I know is getting tired. It likes to blow alot of white smoke when its cold untill the engine warms up. Id just like to get an engine to do all the truck stuff we normaly do, towing hauling an such. But hey we all like a lil more power!

 

Yeah...lots of sites out there. Sorry, I don't have a list but was looking for a crate 360 for my '99 last year. You can go with MOPAR warranted remans, aftermarket remans, lots of choices for a bump in power too.

Randy has it right...if you go with something with more power you'll have to tweak some fuel delivery parameters. One way to do that is to replace the stock FI with either a Holley or FAST Engineering system that you can tweak to the engine's needs.

I eventually decided on a 408 stroker (380 hp/405 lb ft) and a FAST Engineering setup. But then, this HEMI came along and that was the end of that! LOL

 

Lol, yea i dnt know what ill end up doing would like to just get one w/ just a little more power, but something i dont have to keep tweeking on all the time. Prolly just go with a reman crate, any suggestions on whitch company to get one from?

 

Jasper and ATK offer reman units with good warranties. I've installed both brands and had good luck with them. You might even consider a Mopar unit and then tune your fuel system for it.

 

Very true, Ive also batted round the idea of goin with a carbed engine, so I dnt have to mess w/ tuning the efi any thoughts on that?

You know, if your a bit crazy. You could do the 8.0 v10 swap from a donor truck or from a manufacturer listed above....
