If you set the max gear to 8 using the +/- button, the actual gear is just beside the 8.

 

That must only be on certain years, my 13 doesn't do that. My Durango always has the current gear listed next to the "D"

Doesn't that disable the MDS if select "8"? My wife's Grand Cherokee shows what gear you are in all the time and I really like that. I too was wondering if an update might add this cool feature.

 

Yes it does. I do not know of another way but haven't looked into if it can be selected in the EVIC.

 

My 15 shows the current running gear when the +- is used to select the top gear allowed.

 

On 19s it’s in cluster settings.

 

I agree. my 2013 does not display what gear you are in. I tried setting to 8th gear nothing. the gear number is physically larger with cruise turned off and gets smaller with cruise turned on but either way no display of what gear you are in. when you go higher than 8th gear the number goes away altogether.

 

Did Anyone ever find a way to do this in the 4th gens???

Car configuration Change:
ECUConfig 4:
Actual Gear for Display: Yes

Vehicle:
Then go to EVIC
Select Settings
Select Gear Display: Yes

This worked on my 2020 HD, but it did not work on my 2016 Eco
