Does the Laramie come standard with the cooled seats?

I checked my list of options on my order that was sent in for build, and I can't find anything about the cooled seats! I saw the heated seats and steering wheel, but nothing about the cooled seats.

Does it come standard, or am I missing something here?

And, those of you that have them.. what do you think about them?

thanks,
Jon

ventilated

My 2500 Laramie with the "bench" seating (sits 3 in the front row) came standard with the ventilated and heated seats. Well at least for the pilot and copilot seats, the "jump seat" in the middle has neither. The left and right seats in that configuration are very nice bucket seats, I'm guessing the difference between the bucket seat and bench seat is a console is substituted for the center seat and the buckets are the same. Been too cool here to really appreciate the ventilated feature, been digging the heated feature along with the heated steering wheel and remote start now. Tis nice to climb into a toasty workman's rig at o'dark thirty. :FIREdevil:

That is good news. Thanks for the information. I have 3 long months to wait to see my truck.

I would disagree and say that the seats ARE cooled seats depending on how you use them. If you turn them on with no A/C, you'll just have a fan recirculating the air that's in the truck- so if you have 100 degree air, the fan will be blowing 100 degree air onto the back of your legs, however if the A/C is on, the fan is placed very close to the air ducts on the bottom of the seat, so you'll notice the air is very crisp and cool-thus you'll enjoy cooled seats.

Ok, really? First of all the point of my post is that the build sheet won't say cooled seats, it will say ventilated seats because that's what they are. If he is looking for a line item that says cooled seats he is going to be looking for an awfully long time. Second, if your car doesn't have AC and you pull into an air conditioned building and open the windows so it gets cold in your car, that doesn't mean you have AC. There is such a thing as cooled seats and they don't come in a Ram truck.

No the camera doesn`t have the lines. I ordered front and rear park assist. If you don`t have it on the front, you don`t know how close you are. It shows the lines and they change colour the closer you are to an object. It`s perfect for parking in my garage. You will wish you had it. Also I think the seats are cooled as well, but I could be wrong, I tried mine out back in Aug and Sept, I had to turn them to low setting after a while as they felt cold. They work really well.

Park Assist is a great option and does quite ALOT. You DO want it.
It is a sonar like device that also show in the display how far the obstical is and shows which side of the truck it is on and the distance in relation to the obstical. This is for either the front or rear or both.
The closer you get to the obstical the faster the tone beaps and it shows it getting closer in the instrument display by a series of lines that change as you get closer or farther away. It will even help you as you pull into the garage by measuring the space on both sides of the truck as you enter or leave the garage entrance way. If I had to choose, I would easily take park assist over rear camera on its versatility.
Havering Park Assist front and rear in random with the rear camera will make you all seeing and give you the ability to park or maneuver a big pickup like never before. I have owned a truck for 25 years now and I can't believe how much better I can pull into tight areas in and out of the woods. No more guess work.

Here is a quick video of Park Assist.

So the two red, yellow, and green lines that turn with he steering wheel are part of the park assist package? So if I have to order the truck without the park assist package, I won't have those to show on my nav screen as I backup?

The problem is that I might not have a choice if its still on build restriction mid January. So I'm hoping that I will at least have the reverse lines on the nav screen with the backup camera.

Yes, the plot lines that bend as you turn the wheel come with the back-up camera and are very cool and accurate. You are spending ALOT of money and the Park Assist is preferred and expected on a Laramie IMO. I can't believe there is a shortage for a item that has been out for awhile. Bizarre.

Well, I wanted it.. but I don't know what else to do. Its not like I'm in the states and have the choice to shop around. I called a couple dealerships and had issues with consistent communication.

Plus, I'm getting a good price IMO. $45k out the door for the options I mentioned earlier. Any idea who I can contact to find out about the build restriction and when it may be lifted? I'm wondering if there is a service department number for factory builds or a website that has information on restrictions, etc.

Apparently I am out numbered in this instance of sonar vs. camera debate!

He is not from Canada, he's proudly serving in the US military overseas and is attempting to order a truck before he returns to the states.

I have the camera and the lines. The lines are color coordinated to help assist in showing how close you are to an object. If you turn the wheel, the lines will also move and show the projected path of the vehicle. I love this feature and am not sure WHY it wouldn't be on every vehicle produced as it is that important of a feature. The sonar provided by the Park Assist just isn't something I have to have. The camera gives a decent view of the back of the truck so you'll know when you're getting close to something. I also have a fairly good idea of where the front of my truck sits and don't need the assistance of the sonar.

I do agree that for a $50k truck, it should have all the bells and whistles standard, but that's just not how it works in these newer trucks. I think we can all talk till we're blue in the face and the manufactures aren't going to change unless we just stop buying their products all together (which I enjoy their product too much to stop buying it)!

My garage space is tight and like most, I HAVE to park just right in order to make sure I am in the garage all the way. Since I don't have the park assist, I simply back into the garage and I have the spot marked where my rear bumper has to sit. Once I clear that mark on camera, I put it in park and enjoy the beauty of my awesome truck. My last truck had the sonar, but no camera. I would say that if you didn't have a camera, the sonar is a MUST, but since you've got the camera I just don't see a need for the sonar.

Vette,

I would personally recommend you go to the 2015 Order Update thread created by SPP... look him up and send him an email. He can not only keep you informed of where your truck is in the order process, but he can also tell you exactly what is being put on your truck and what options/exclusions there are. This way you don't have to deal with phone calls/emails to the dealer and hash it out AND you can trust that the information that SPP gives you is the CORRECT information.

Best of luck....

This is his problem trying to buy through a military dealer ship overseas is worse than pulling teeth. I would order the truck the way you want it and if they can't get it for you on time then just bite the bullet and reorder when you get back to the states. At least then you will have a dealer who wants your business and will try to help.

P.S. Thanks for your service to our country from a fellow Veteran.

I ordered my new Laramie without Park Assist on purpose. It does have the backup camera and the lines on the screen. We have a few other vehicles with backup beepers in our household, so I know it well, but I just don't see the need for myself. With the camera I can get within an inch of anything. And the best part is my truck doesn't start all that annoying beeping!
