I think there is more to that paint code. I beleive these pearls are multi-stage paints jobs. The red pearl top coat looks the same on the Velvet red and the Delmonico red as they shade/ highlight the contours in a very similar way, but the base paint seeems different in the pictures/ videos. The Velvet red has bluish purple tints while the Delmonico Red doesn't seem to in the pics/ videos. Watch a video of a 2016 Velvet red Chrysler 300 and you probably can see.

Maybe in the same natural light, they will look the same.. sometime hard to tell in photos

Hey! They did away with the chrome bling ring on the new console!

The PRV paint code is what is used by the body shop to make repairs not the name of the paint. The only way to compare the two colors is to see them side by side at the same time in the same kind of light. Photos and videos taken at different times of the day or even using different equipment or different equipment settings can make the photos look different. The bottom line is the paint code is the only thing that matters.

I surely hope it is the same.. I went down to the dealer to look at a 2016 Velvet red Chrysler 300 and it was a beautiful paint... one of the nicest I have ever seen.

Now that pic looks more like the velvet red than the pics I found and makes me feel that perhaps it is the same color. You can see the bluish purple base that really comes out with the natural light and looks like a custom hot rod paint job.

My Delmonico Red Ram that is on order, is coming with chrome bumpers
I wanted plastic painted bumpers, like i currently have
Then again, they are not as strong as metal bumpers

I may try to find some 3M plastic wrap that is close to the color of Delmonico Red
I am going to use clear wrap from the fenders back to the tail lights

Photos of my Delmonico Red Limited

Here are the photos of the red everyone has been waiting to see. In the shade it looks like Deep Cheery Red to me and it looks different in the sun. Tell me if you think it looks like the old Deep Cherry to you. The last photo was taken at night in the detail bay after being washed.

Its kind of hard to tell from pictures but it looks a little more orange-y and a little less purple-y than deep cherry

That is the thing with pearls.. they can look totally different depending on the light.. I just came from 2 dealerships a few hours ago where I was looking at this color in different light/ time of day. In bright light it looks like the old cherry red color. In dim light, it looks like a purplish maroon... and many shades in between depending on the light.

That pic makes it look more purple-y like deep molten red on the 3rd gens, but obviously not that dark.

That looks awesome. This would be my choice after black.

I ordered the Delmonico Red for my new Limited. The dealer has a sport in Delmonico on the lot. My opinion is that the new Delmonico is somewhere in between the Inferno Red of 2006/07 and Deep Cherry Red, leaning towards the Deep Cherry. The biggest difference is in the sunlight. The pearl of the new red really sets off the body lines, in the way Inferno Red used to do. Its cold as the proverbial witches mammalian protrusion today, but if I am out and go past the dealer I will try and get a few snaps of the Sport in DR. Bright sunny but cold day here...will give you a good impression of the pearl.

I have picked up my Delmonico Red Ram. Hopefully the pictures upload! I have debadged it and added 24 inch Verde Invictus wheels in Black. I am getting stopped and given compliments every where I go! It looks absolutely stunning in person.
