Looking to upgrade my fog light bulbs. Any suggestions for something that is brighter than the stock bulbs.
Thanks

PIAA Xtreme White or Sylvania zXe.
I have the zXe's and am fairly happy with them. Look for a high lumen number and 4200-4300K for color of light.
You can look at my "albums" on my signature to get some comparisons to stock.

Edit: The zXe's are going to be a little bit "whiter" than the PIAA Xtreme's (higher Kelvin rating). The PIAA's will likely have a higher lumen value.

Hi,
How are you. Congratulations on your new truck. I just bought the exact same truck. Took ownership on the 28th of October. I just posted a post asking for suggestions on upgrading the stock fog light bulbs. Looking for something brighter. I am blown away by the results of changing the driving headlight bulbs. I was not aware that the driving light bulbs were up gradable. Thought they were sealed units. My truck is brand new and I am still getting familiar with it. I would like to upgrade to something brighter.

Depends. There's a projector style low beam bulb and a quad headlight bulb.
The foglights for the 1500's (they're the vertical style) are definitely 9006.

1500's:
Trucks with projector headlights (Sport and up; some lower trim levels as an option)
Low beam: 9012
High beam: 9005
Fog: 9006

Trucks without projector headlights
Low beam: H11
High beam: 9005
Fog: 9006

I don't recommend the HID style light for the foglights unless you're also putting in an aftermarket projector.
If you just put an HID bulb in the stock socket, you are blinding everyone coming at you. It's really a bad deal.

Foglight Replacent:Sylvania Silverstar 9006ST.BP2

Did a search on Amazon and I got this as a result that will fit my truck.
Sylvania Silverstar 9006ST.BP2 (Fog Light replacement).
Website says this product will fit. It's different to the Part #9006SZ-2 you mentioned.
Can someone confirm this. Also is this the best choice for a replacement.
Will hold off ordering.
Thanks.

The one you're referencing is the Silverstar. Don't go with that one. Go with the zXe instead (whiter light),

an HID bulb does not belong in a halogen reflector housing,
They need to be installed in a projector with a lens to focus the beam pattern,
and a cut off shield you can adjust to keep the intense light out of other drivers eyes...

Image

a stock halogen bulb for a fog lamp has a cap on the end of it,
the reflector housing has a series of specially aligned mirrors to focus the beam pattern.

Putting an HID bulb into a reflector shoots much more power in all directions,
the result is light scatter that blinds oncoming traffic.

example of bulb difference

35w/5000k HID drop in kit in same reflector housing (fogs only, no other lights on)

For comparison, here's what my 35w/5000k HID's look like in my 13+ Projector heads
(nice clean Cut-Off line aimed below oncoming drivers eyes) no fogs

Going to order custom projector fog lights to match my headlights from the Retro Shop next...

Thanks for the info on the fog lamp bulbs. I did find the zXe's on Amazon.
I might as well change the headlight bulbs as well.
What are the part numbers for those bulbs. I like the look of your bulbs in your pics. They are bright and very white. I can just swap out low beams for now right. Honestly I have not even looked at the light housing in my truck.
Thanks man.

Those bulbs look fantastic. They must really pierce the night with bright light. I just looked at those before I seen your post. I am about to order some bulbs. Are those Generic Pack of 2 2400LM 20W CREE L2 LED 9006 HB4 9012 LED Headlight Kit 9006 CREE LED Fog Lamp. That's the description on Amazon. Have to make a decision. Was looking at Sylvania's zXe's as recommended by 2013Ram.
Thanks.
