I bought a new grill and had it painted, Much better I think. Then I bought front door handles and self painted the rear ones

Looks good. I planned to paint the grill on my lone star. I like the chrome bumper and done mind the handles but the huge grill is a little much to me.

Looks great!
did you sand and rattle can the rear door handles?

that is my plan once I get my Laramie or Laramie Limited: Painted Grille, Painted Doorhandles, and hopefully painted headlights and swapping the Laramie tails out for Sport tails. I HATE the chrome ring in the laramie tails, not as noticable on your silver, but ugly as sin on a darker color truck. brings up bad memories of my 88 dodge dakota...(shiver)

I'd get a sport, but the lack of memory seats/mirrors and the few other little options are a dealbreaker for me, so pay more and spray more!

Thanks all,

I'm not sure about the tape removal it seems like such a permanent mod maybe I'll put something like painters tape on it, then some silver duct tape over that and see how I like it

QuickSilv3r:

I did sand and used these Products to paint the rear handles

And I very much agree with you on the need to swap the rear tails out for sport ones. At some point I'll paint the head lights too,

yes I could of bought a sport, I had one a 2012 white one and was sick of the front plastic bumper being a rock and chip magnate

I really like the little refinements the Laramie Interior has over a sport and this way I can have the best of both :beerchug:

Need more pictures, some from the front 1/4 from further back so we can see the whole truck please.

dbfan: Your truck looks AWESOME! :smiley_thumbs_up:

Not to hijack this thread, but does anyone have before/after pics of the pillar tape removed on a Copperhead Pearl truck? I'm getting ready to pick up a Big Horn in this color and wanted to see what it might look like before I take off the pillar tape.

the grill is for a silver express part # 68197703AA It will say it's body color matched in the part description but it's not it will look like this, and ready to paint.

I took it to a body shop and had it painted for $100 and it's a perfect match, they did a great job I'm very happy with how it turned out :smiley_thumbs

The honeycomb grill detaches real easy so all you have is a frame for painting.

Looks great, I think the molding tape looks good if you dark tint the front windows, otherwise I say take it off. How much did the grill itself set you back?

Very nice job on the grill. I like it.
