Just recently all steering wheel controls have stopped working. I can't change to different screens on the gauge cluster. No voice control. The volume buttons and radio controls don't work. However the cruise control button works. I thought it may be a fuse but I can't for the life of me find what fuse it is. It doesn't say steering wheel controls or anything close in the owners manual under fuses. Any Ideas?

Back in 2009 when I took delivery of my new truck it had a wiring fault, an intermittant short causing a fuse to blow. Long story, a steel clip had sliced the wire but only made contact occasionally when I hit a bump or closed the rear door hard enough, took them a month to find it.

There is a point to my story, and here it is:

When that fuse blew it took out my dome lights, steering wheel controls, and a few of the buttons on the center stack. I want to say the tow/haul button and maybe the inverter... Can't remember exactly, and I don't recall how the fuse was labelled but I know it did not say "Steering Wheel Controls"

It may have been labelled "Dome Light" or something like that.

Point I am making is the steering wheel controls were definitely tied in to something else electrically.

Is there anything else not working in your truck? I would check any and all fuses that have anything to do with the interior of the truck. Maybe you'll find it.

Good luck!

I has the same issue a few times with my 07 Wrangler. It was the clockspring in the steering wheel. I just beeped my horn and it reset. If your horn is not working I don't know then.

My dad had this happen on his 2009 a few weeks ago. It turned out to be fuse #34.

There is an active recall on the steering wheel wiring harness on the 13s. Doesn't cost anything. Took my dealer about an hour to change it out. Call the dealer with your VIN and they will tell you if your RAM is part of the recall.

I had a similar issue with the cruise control switch. It would only work when the wheel was at a specific angle. I brought it in to do the recall on the column and my issue needed another part ordered. Try tilting the wheel at different angles.

Gatsy92, did you ever get your issue resolved? I've got the same problem with my 2016 1500 Limited. Been to the dealership for repair twice with no luck. The issue returns after a few miles of driving.
Did either of you get this resolved? My 2014 Bighorn just started same thing. Horn does not work and left side steering wheel controls do not work. Could it be a bad clock spring at 48k miles?

Glad to hear it was just a fuse. Easy to find and replace

Did you found the problem??

I'm actually having the exact same issue with my 14 Ram 1500. All the steering wheel controls excluding cruise control are unresponsive. And my horn is unresponsive even though it's definitely working because I can hear it when I lock the truck. Was it a simple fix such as a blown fuse?

Anyone have a recommended solution to this problem for a 2014 Ram 3500 Laramie 6.7L Turbo Diesel with the 6 speed auto 68RFE-DG7 transmission? Trying to find an M53 fuse and the manual says there is one Power Distribution Center (Fuses) and one Aux Power Distribution Center in the engine compartment but in real life there is only the Power Distribution Center. No extra fuse box on the passenger side or under/behind the steering column. I resorted to pulling all the fuses out, including F53, and checking them one by one but they are all good to go. I just replaced the Fuel Filter and would rather not see the “Replace Fuel Filter” all the time. Would also be nice to have hands free calling. I’ll deal with it if I have to, but would rather not have to manually keep track of the miles for the next replacement. Thoughts?
