Finally see there is a recall for this issue. Unfortunately, no parts available. So, this is how they will get around not fixing these vehicles. Don't create a working part and then you don't have to pay to fix them.

Don't take it to the dealerships lol .... I had this going on with my truck for over a year, kept getting emails from them weekly, calls from the weekly that my truck needed to get checked because the health report was detecting issues with my truck lol .

Once I got a lawyer involved those emails stopped and my truck stopped giving out those messages as well ....

Find yourself a good trusted mechanic and go that route, once you take your vehicles to a dealership for "AN" issue, you will get it back with 5 more they intentionally caused .... You guys don't have to take my word for it, but I am telling you what I and a few people I know have gone through with local dealerships ....

The real kicker is that they’ve known about this problem for at least six years and have simply been ignoring it and charging customers to “fix” their vehicles by installing yet another known defective part. It’s gross negligence and customer abuse on Stellantis’ part.

Yeep, as long as it's not listed as a recall on NHTSA's site, they can charge you whatever they want. Remember, if it's not an emissions recall which by law has to be fixed unlike other safety recalls, they are not obligated to do anything about it because they don't hold them accountable one bit.

I believe this recall is a kick in the nuts to all of us that have had the same issues in 2014 and up Ram 1500 series, it's clearly a problem component installed on these trucks, I have a 2015 big horn 4x4 ordered with every option and tow package. I've already dealt with the rack pinion problems out of pocket twice due to p,s, motor failure, and was on the 3 rd abs module out of pocket, I kept buying replacements off low mileage salvage trucks, and as of now another abs failure, all lights on, no cruise etc, now I see why? They are junk, if you take one apart for inspection, you can see a small bur on the shaft of abs motor, I have seen thousands of folks with abs failure on 1500 models, various year models, @ramcare are you guys gonna address this issue ? I know you guys have the real failure percentage numbers on these trucks, it's probably more then the current recall number due to more year models and 1500 series trucks are out there then current models affected, the problem is we pay out of pocket and dealers just send us to hell with sorry no recall or multiple complaints about this issue, wtf? When my p,s, unit went out the 2nd time , 4 other guys was in service dept, for same issue and covered under warranty and I was at 104.000 no warranty, I'm currently out around $1.500 for used abs, now need another one. plus $2.800 p.s rack unit, for a truck that sits in the garage for 90% of the time as I drive a daily driver work truck,

Recall C4B/NHTSA 24V-896 arrived in the mail today and quote "The remedy for this condition is not currently available. We are making every effort to finalize the remedy, and will service your vehicle free of charge (parts and labor) when the remedy is available."

Update: Took truck to dealer. Code C0020 set. Replaced 68143491AA Control: Anti-Lock Brake Sys. Plus 60 oz. brake fluid. Drove 500 miles. No issues. Covered under warranty.
From the AA at end of part number tells me that they put in same as removed, and there is no updated part yet. So may happen again.
Update. Sure enough. Happened again. Only 7800 miles since repair. Received recall notice. No remedy yet. I see 68143491AB available in parts book. Is this the fix?

2017 RAM big horn 1500

I had a terrible grinding sound every time I stopped for awhile. Would get an ABS alert every once in awhile. Turned out to be the ABS sensor. I replaced it with an after market one (the housing was dirty as shit) and that solved my issue for awhile.

Now about 3 months later I just randomly got a "mismatched tires 4WD disabled" or something like that. And about 2 minutes later I got ABS alert and also traction control alert. I am wondering if this is still an issue with the ABS sensor especially since I used an aftermarket one and not OEM.

I am not sure if this provided any insight but I will keep this chain posted on if I come up with a resolve.

I bought a used 2017 ram 3500 in Oct with 63K miles and when checking online using the VIN number I dont see this truck in the Recall C4B/NHTSA 24V-896... When I look at the VIN tag the date of manf is 8-16.. does this mean a truck made later as a 2017, might have a different anti lock system and be part of the problem?? I see a the years of guys with problem and see 2017, 2018 etc and just wondering if I need to worry about this issues.

Mine is 2016 and I have this intermittent issuissue

2018 Ram 2500 and also having the same issue with Service Electronic Braking System at 128k. After reading much of the Recall's, seems that this is a common issue. Also watched a few videos online with similar situations explaining a few issues. I am not a mechanic however I don't abuse my truck or anything of that nature but for sure can tell something doesn't seem right as it turns off/on a ton, sometime can stop for 20 miles or so and then start again. Definitely prevents the cruise control from working, but brakes still work fine so no issues on that. I have an appointment made at Ram to take it in and see if it's the recall causing the issue or some other issue. Will keep all posted on my outcome.
