Weak airflow out of vents

Sorry if it has been asked before but I searched and couldn't find anything...that being said I am having a problem with what I consider less than adequate airflow coming from the vents. When the fan controller is in the high position I have a hard time telling the difference between high and the lower speeds.
I live in deep south Texas and the heat is a killer and love the truck other than that problem. Any ideas??

In AZ, and I'm begging for the AC to blow harder too, but I do notice a difference between high and low speeds, but high just isn't high enough for 110 degrees!! Wonder if Ram is building the AC for Detroit weather!! LOL...
It does cool down pretty quick, but just expect higher flow with "max AC" on and set to high fan...

I can hear a difference in the fan speed from low to high but it seems that the amount of air coming out of the vents does not correspond to the change in fan speed. It does seem that maybe they built the a/c for detroit lol.

I wish I had the chance to use the heater. Most of my previous vehicles have had the heater core taken out or bypassed all together. Not much need for a heater down here.

is that something you have experienced? I have found some info on "blend door" malfunctions, but the whole dash has to come off to get to it. I wonder if there is a way to test it before dismantling the dash.

If you run your truck in dust , especially clay, I would look into your cores possibly being plugged in the heater box ,look in your vents with a flashlight , if you see a coating of dust in the ducts , that is quite possibly the problem , the condensation in the box attracts dust and can easily plug the cores causing a big loss in airflow

thanks I will check them out. Anything to help, maybe there is nothing wrong with them I was just hoping for more air than my other truck. My wifes tahoe has a ton more air coming out of the vents. Guess i was hoping for the same for mine

@ Dave665
was yours under warranty? seems pretty labor intensive and i'm sure the bill will be high since mine doesn't have warranty. good to know that there is hope for increased air flow. I have to take it in to have a recall issue resolved so going to have them check on that also. Thanks.

On my truck, intermittently when I start the truck in the bi-level mode (face and feet), I barely have any air flow. I actually have to switch vent settings and go back to the bi-level in order to get the proper air flow.
I've been able to reproduce it at the dealer and "they're looking into it" and will call me. That was 3-4 weeks ago.

under your dash take your blower motor out of it's housing, and get a shop vac and clean out the blower motor cage.
what happens over time dust and debrie settle in our vents over time/years and it partially clogs our vents.
once you clean out the blower cage area, you should be good to go.
remember our dodge's have a vaccum only actuator box for our a/c and heater,so the actuator is basically a hollow box with vaccum hoses running to our engine manifold to operate the a/c and heater controls.
I've had to "hillbilly" engineer my actuator box to get it to work,as to replace the actuator box you basically have to take the whole dash out of the truck to get to it to replace it.
cheaper to ziptie it and fix it besides being a lot cheaper.

Found one potential fix.

Turned out one of the work trucks had an evap caked in mud. It looked like a beehive in there. I filled a spray bottle with water and car wash concentrate, cracked the box open enough (gotta force it a bit, but there's enough room) to spray the evap down, and blew it out from the back side with compressed air. I can feel the blower from the driver's seat again. It's blowing a few bubbles around some of the air box seams, but at least it smells nice.

These things really need to have a filter. I'm thinking of making one from the filter for one of these Ford's to fit inside the fresh/cabin air door and duct taping it in.

Yes i found the problem. The new heater blower motors have been wired incorrectly. Reverse the wires and every thing will work correctly.

Remove your blower motor and reach up inside the hole. Air circulation door inside might be broken on one end. I just removed mine and sure enough, that was the problem. I took out broken door, cleaned blower fins, installed blower motor back and I have plenty air coming out vents. Note, I seen sediments of deteriated sediments of sponge on floor board a while back. That was evidence that was coming off the door that was removed.
