I am suspecting my Win module on my 2013 ram 1500 sport is the culprit for the issue I am having.

1st the issue is randomly the truck will not start when the key is turned. The light and accessories turn on no problem. But it will not turn the crank. It's almost like it doesn't detect a key but when you have to physically insert it I have a hard time believing that.

My question is and I'm not 100% sure but does the Win need to be programmed by a dealer for my keys? Or can I just swap it out with a new one? I did a lot a searching and most results come back with the 2000 to 2012 models and their bad Win modules but I looked up a part on amazon which is supposed to be oem MOPAR and comments are stating plug and play. Can anyone confirm?

Hey did you find an answer for that? I have same question if that replacement win module on Amazon is plug and play and wanted to confirm. part#68271986AB.. which replaces my 2013 big horn part #56046942AE...I have found on other Mopar website the newer replacement for the one on amazon with same numbers but ending in AC...and wanted to make sure the newer ones don't need to be programmed at the Stealership...Thanks

I’m having the same problem on my 2013 Ram 1500. Where wiggling the key around and turning key to the on off position used to crank the truck eventually. Now it doesn’t crank at all but it responds when you turn the key as far as turning on the interior lights, headlights, chimes, is concerned. I need a new WIN module snd everything I’ve read says that the dealer has to program the new WIN module. Could you send a link to the one you bought? A website or part number maybe. Mine would probably be the same as yours. I don’t have push button start. TYSM

Yes you do have to have it programmed at the dealership. If you buy a new ignition it will have to be programmed. I’ve been through all of this. Sounds like a rf hub issue. I ended up replacing the rf hub, the ignition, and got two new key fobs but all my FOBs were shit so I went ahead and bought the whole kit preprogrammed from a company out of Texas. Plug and play. If you have good FOBs or one good key fob you’ll just need to order the rf hub preprogrammed to your truck. This was the cheaper route for me bc I was going to have to have my truck towed to the dealership just to get the process started. I bought the whole system preprogrammed for $900. You won’t need the whole system. You’ll probably just order the preprogrammed rf hub. I think it’s $300-400. Still cheaper than a trip to the dealership. It would have cost $300 just to get my truck up to the dealership. And that’s step 1. I’ll keep a eye on this post if you have other questions

My 2015 2500 6.7 Turbo with 120k miles has been awesome. Just recently it, on just a few occassions started intermittant rough running and even died on a couple of occasions while at a stop light. Then the other day after returning home from a short trip, I attempted to start it with an absolute zero with the key fob. No dash lights, no function of of door lock/unlock, no function of PANIC button and only two remote starts before that also failed. I had a suspicion that the WIN went bad. checked to assure power to the WIN with good result. Just for grins, tried several other key fobs and found that all of them will start the truck just fine. The strange this is that except for one single fob out of four, none of the other functions work any more. Start only. No remote start, No PANIC alarm, No door lock/unlock functions. The one single FOB functions completely and correctly. I'm at a loss. Any ideas? Also found a small female four pin connector similar to the one that connects to the WIN that doesn't seem to have any place to pug in anywhere and splits off from the same harness that connects to the WIN.
