Greetings! Traded in my 2010 Ram 1500 and picked up the new 2019 Ram 1500 Big Horn Classic.
A couple of things are bothering me.
One, what do I need USB ports for other than charging? I have the Bluetooth but I understand that I can download additional apps through the usb? Problem is my S9+ isn't being recognized. I have tried two different cords and I am at my wits end.
Uconnect: So I call to activate and they have trouble sending me an email and then I finally get things squared a way and the still have my dodge ram 2010 on there. @4 hours to update:doh::doh::doh::doh::doh::doh::doh: Its hard to believe in this day and age that anything takes 24 hours. What is everyone using uconnect for?
Love the truck so far, it sure does shift through the gears pretty fast unless you womp on it!
Oh I almost forgot, I had google maps up on the 8.4 screen and then I lost it and cant figure how to get it back, any ideas?

Why didn't your dealership activate Sirius Guardian ??
You should have either a 6 months or 1 year free trial period, i forget which, as i don't own a smart phone.

I just use Bluetooth, which Chrysler/FCA has called Uconnect, which is Hands Free Calling

Sirius Guardian used to be called Uconnect Advantage or Uconnect Access, it is a Fee based APP
I don't need it, to me there is no need to call my Ram to start it so that the truck will be nice & toasty when i climb in it when it is cold

Some people listen to music that is on their phone & play it through the trucks speakers :4-dontknow:

I figured out most of it. I activated Uconnect right through the console. I believe I get a year. The usb problem seemed to fix itself. I took a nap , plugged the usb back in, and it worked. Its good to have for running android play. I can run spotify and waze navigation at the same time.

That damn rotary knob shifter ...

i have owned this Ram for 3 years this month

I have to look at the dash to see what i am grabbing
I have touched it to mute the radio while night driving
I have touched it to turn the fan speed up or down

Using the darn steering wheel buttons is almost as bad
I want to do something with the Cruise Control & i am always pushing the gear selector buttons, unless i am looking at it.

Taking my eyes off the road is not a good thing at 70 MPH

When i had my last Ram, i never had to look for the floor console shifter

Wait until you accidentally hit it while attempting to grab something that's falling off the dash like glasses out of the little cup on top and knock it into reverse while going 70 mph on the freeway.

Ask me how I know and I'll tell you about the minor heart attack I had.
I miss the positive lock shifting between gears...

That must be new for 2019 then. Or you can turn the shifter but it doesn't actually shift the transmission

Lol!

Fair enough indeed, I wouldn't wait either.

I seem to recall I did this at some point, can't remember but I thought there was a message that popped up or maybe the light just kept flashing.

Either way I was like you, I didn't wait to see if or when it would shift I put it back into D right quick! Lol

If its flashing it didn't complete the shift
