googled and googled and can't find info on this error code I got (just came back from service dept. today). Got 3 codes actually: TCM-P1B14, DDM-U0140 and PDM-U0140 .. First code has me worried (transmission?). Brought truck to dealer after I tried to shift into reverse and got a message saying: put back into P and then R, did it a few times, got the truck into drive and rolling fine but Engine light came on ... stayed on for 1 day then off for 2 days. This morning, same message and engine light back on. Dealer cleared code, said it was the first time they'd seen these codes and told me to monitor the situation ... Truck runs well, no other problems ... anyone else has had this code? Any idea what it is? This is my first truck (2014 Ram 1500 4x4 slt 3.6 l engine/ 8 speed automatic).

Appreciate any input - thanks!

P1B14 is indeed Unintended Park Position, which means the TCM saw the park pawl engaged when the trans was in Reverse, Neutral, or Drive. Probably an issue with the park position sensor, the park lock solenoid, or the park hold solenoid (or wiring). Could have been a momentary glitch. The diagnostics do basically tell the dealer (if it won't repeat) to simply check the wiring connections, clear the code, and monitor it.

TransEngineer,
would it be possible to have you get all the transmission codes and post them in here...?
That way, if anyone has codes, they can check here to see what those codes are.
Maybe we can get the Z to make them a sticky for future reference.

Thank you for all you contribute, it is of great help as always...!!!

I am having same problem . But mine occured when coming up to a stoplight coasting up to light and it was just like someone turned the dial to park without applying the brake. Then truck would not move . The gear selector flashes in every gear but park . Pulled codes got the unexpected parking position and one for nuetral saftey switch which i have failed to locate yet on the zf 8hp70 8 speed trans.
