It has been established the wind buffeting is a bit exaggerated on these rams than other trucks. All trucks do it, this just seem to do it worse. Compromise of the body design. Only way to prevent it is to just crack the windows bud.

My truck does it bad as well, and mines an 07

 

Don't worry your not alone on this one! Mine does it as well to the point where it feels like my ears are going to explode from the air pressure. Like gonefishin776 said, crack a window up front to stop it.

 

I've had it happen with plenty of other vehicles. The first day I had my 04 Durango I was on the highway moving "briskly" and when I put the front windows up I thought a helicopter was landing on the roof. Scared the hell out of me.

 

I just crack a front and back at the same time (both on driver's side or both passenger side), no more helicopters

 

Geez, i guess none of you worked in places like on a farm or in construction
if you had, things like wind buffeting & exhaust drone would not bother you

driving around Connecticut & everywhere else, you see womens feet sticking out the windows & the rear sliding window is wide open
heck, we called that air conditioning & were glad to have it

 

I could link to a few science studies I read awhile back on the subject (I have no life it seems).

In a nutshell, large amount of air being pushed around the truck + a large window opening == air trying to go into the truck AND out of the truck through the windows at the same time. Combine that with a pretty tight cab in terms of air sealing and you get buffetting. Lots of it.

 

My Tundra did the same thing. My current 13' crew cab does the same. For me what works best is opening the sliding back window. This only works well for people that have the electric sliding window. For me, it does better than opening the front windows and creates less wind noise.

 

Most every crew cab truck does it. fact of life. :smileup:

 

Say what you want, there will never be a vehicle that does it as bad as my mom's 2006 Honda Odyssey. The ram doesn't even come close.

 

I don't know, man. Our old 2007 Chevy Avalanche had it terribly loud once to the point where I thought that I was about to die from all that head pressure..

 

It does it on my Ram. It did it in my '04 Mazda 3.
It does it in my wife's Fusion with only one window open (any one window), but stops when you open any other window.

 

That has happened on my avalanche and my F250.

 

I did a unofficial test today in regards to the wamp-wamp noise. I found that between 45-80mph it was intense, however once I was up around 90-120 it went away. I guess you just need to apply a little more foot to the peddle:4-dontknow:
