So i bought my truck about a year ago and i'm not 100% sure if i have an MDS on my truck is there any way for me to tell the truck is all stock as of right now but i'm looking into some upgrades in the next little while. I haven't noticed any change in the truck when driving on the highway as rpm's go and my manager who owns a 2010 ram with MDS couldn't tell either just wondering if anyone knows a simple way to figure out.

Thanks in advance

MDS is the function of shutting down 4 cylinders of a 8 cylinder engine
there is no real indication of when it kicks in & out
The only way that i know for sure to see an indication is IF you release the gas pedal just the slightest bit, does the ECO light come on?
The ECO light comes on at other times too, like if your traveling on flat ground or going downhill, it may also be on if your not going up too much of a grade
As far as i know, the ECO light only turns on when the MDS is engaged
MDS does not work if you are in any other gear but your highest, usually that means the Drive position when no torque or very little torque is needed

Mine is a 2020 Laramie, and I have a “T” in the eighth character of the VIN as well.

The “eco” light never comes on, but it didn’t on my 2019 Ram either, until I activated it on the radio screen. I’ll probably just leave it off this time. BTW; it has nothing to do with the MDS being activated or not.

If you have a hemi that's not in an HD model; you have a multiple displacement system.

Basically, when there’s not much of a load on the engine, it shuts off four cylinders to conserve fuel. So; you go from a V-8 to a four banger.

It’s easy to tell when my wife’s Charger goes to four cylinder mode because she has an active (fairly loud) exhaust system.

Disabling MDS affects your oil pressure level to the roller lifters as they are designed differently on MDS cylinders to compensate for valve lash or lack of from non combustion. Apparently the pressure is increased on down time of MDS cylinders increasing splash on the cam. Whether that is a good thing or a bad thing is ???
