thanks for the pic of the smittybilt on a 13! It'll be the one I get, Too bad they aren't available in chrome. But I think I can fix that. There are some chrome-esque powder coat options available.

Lots of people are big on the bar it seems. Inset into the lower bumper like comatone1982 is slick and clean. However, I have the bumper like Otterdriver - and I can't inset it like you have.

Guess I'm just being an old stick... grew up with round and finding it hard to imagine anything else, lol.

still not sure which to buy, but you can rest assured I will buy quality. I've moved on from the days of buying cheap crap.
I don't think you can compare a lot of LED light bars to Rigid, but you will pay through the nose for it, I was hesitant buying my LED off ebay, it was $200 to my door but rest assured there are a few dealers you can purchase from that actually have decent quality light bars for very reasonable money, they compete for your business so the price doesn't always reflect the quality, I have a 2 year warranty with mine, its a generic knock-off but let me tell you, the light output is impressive. The Smittybilt light bar (#120020) was almost as much as the light, that I can tell you is quality, the threaded attach points are inside the mounts and the 2 points that meet the bumper are capped with rubber so no marks on the bumper, I've been down a few wash-board roads with the light on and there was no shaking or shimmering going on so I am happy. All in for under $400.

I am one of the few, if not the only one, who votes for the round KC type. I love my Hunter bull bar and plan to have KC 123 driving lights on it here shortly (whenever the IRS decides I can have my tax refund, lol!).

I am not sure why, but the LED bars have never looked right to me. They look great installed on other vehicles, but I just don't think they would look all that great on mine. Call me old fashioned. I just prefer the round appearance of the KCs and when compared to no aftermarket driving lights at all, just pure OEM, the KCs give off a fair amount of light (at least the model I plan to purchase). And even though I am one who appreciates light, and a lot of it, I just cannot picture installing the LED bars on my Ram - just not the appearance I am going for.

I have attached some pics for you to consider. It is totally up to you which route you go - much like someone else already mentioned, it is about what look you are trying to accomplish just as much as it is about the light output.

One main reason why I went with the Hunter brand and this specific model, is because, unlike other brands, this one doesn't block most of my beautiful chrome grille. :) This is what my rig looks like for now with just the Hunter bar installed:

And these are the pics posted by another member that inspired me to go this route:

^^^That is actually an awesome setup, there is nothing wrong with the way that looks! I agree with your previous comment, its the look and output each individual is after that matters. I think the bar you have looks awesome in chrome.

You're welcome! I share when I can and like I said, this bar doesn't block most of my grille like most other brands do. So when I saw it on here, I knew it was the one I wanted to go with - and ultimately had it purchased and installed within a month. And at such a great price point, you can't go wrong with it, should you choose it is for you. The bar is extremely sturdy and very well made.

I purchased mine off eBay. The manufacturer, Hunter, makes a few different options for our Rams. For my chrome bar, this is the current listing. It also comes in powder coated black version as well, listed here.

i can compare my cree led that i paid 350 for a 30 in double stacked is just as bright as my buddies rigid 50 in ! i can give you the website if your intrested!
I would like to see pics of your light bar if you have any, mine didn't come with the "cree" led's but I am pretty happy with the output, just wondering if there is a difference, that's why I didn't mind the price of mine, I figured if I ever did an upgrade it wouldn't be so painful, I've seen a number of curved 40" bars on ebay rated around 240 watts with cree led's, for a reasonable price, as far as I'm concerned the more light the better, just really impressed with the performance of these led light bars and how bullet-proof they are.:broken-image-fighte

My advice is to use a Baja designs stealth LED Bar, buy it with the Baja designs wiring harness which you can light the bar by high beam " led will work when high beam on"

I'm sure no led can beat baja designs, have got 2X20" lights. Really it will light your night.

I have got baja designs HIDs as well, they are really nice with 5000k temperature
