I just tried updating this but mine gets stuck on unit 10 of 12 (embedded air card) it takes a few minutes then it goes to 40%, after another few minutes it says the update failed, take out USB drive. So now I'm stuck in a reboot cycle of my head unit looking for the update... NOT COOL!
anyone have this issue?
 
I took my truck to the dealer this morning and they were able to update to the latest version. They did 5 different software flashes on it including the latest recall.

My nav is still way off though. I was driving home on the interstate and my nav screen had me driving through a lake.
 
Service Department is Mean

I called my dealer to see if they have the new 14.05.03 upgrade, and they asked me "Just what are you trying to achieve." I told them that I read on the RAM Forum that they have an upgrade and I want it. Jeez, what a dope.

The service agent told me that it goes by VIN number, and that I have the latest update on my truck. Well, I have 13.85.XX, and others on this forum in the US have the newer upgrade. I have a RAM Sport 2014 without the NAV. Is he just trying to intimate me so I'll go away, or is he telling me the truth?

Thank you for the link, and I'm downloading it now. I also see that they finally have proper instructions, so I'll let you know what happens after I attempt to install it in my truck. I bought a new USB stick, so maybe that will help. We'll see.

Thanks, I got it to update. I had to make sure that the only file on my USB stick was the swdl, and it worked. It fixed the problem that I was having with my Leer CAP/Shell not automatically opening all the time when I pressed the unlock button twice. It used to only work half the time, and the rest of the time I'd have to use the key. Now everything works as it should. Thank you for the link, again. :ura1:
 
yea, it's VIN to check for availability, but the system is often wrong. If you have the 8.4 with or without nav, you are ok to upgrade.
yes, they have it, they all do.
and if he is trying to "intimate" you, he is doing it wrong.
updates are different based on location, IE: Canada vs. USA
i live in canada, although my VIN shows there is an update (on the American Uconnect site) the dealer here in Canada says that does not apply to my RAM as they are Canadian and beat by a different drum. has nothing to do with the dealer just trying to "scare" you off,

since there is no uconnect website for canadian Rams, they use their systems at the dealership.

also states i have a Reg Cab when clearly i have a Ext. Cab.
 
It is the same file for all trucks. there are no different versions for Canada and US or the rest of the world. The latest version, 14.05.3 or whatever it is, actually fixes a few things for some Russian or some middle-eastern language font, among other things.
I installed mine from the uconnect site using my VIN and so did many other here.
Developing these releases for individual regions is time/money consuming and opens up a whole new can of worms when it comes to support; not to mention confusion about the versions.
Upgrade/install, select language, enjoy this amazing truck !

I will do the same when the next uconnect comes out, in the next few weeks.
 
I was wondering if any of you have this problem.
I have a '14 Long Horn with the NAV package. When I try to do a search (POI) by telephone number; the system never finds anything, replying with a message that no such entry exists. I know this not to be true, because if you do a POI search for lets say nearby coffee shops, it will show you all the details of the coffee shops including their telephone number. But when you try to search for that exact telephone number, nothing comes up.

Are any of you able to search by telephone number on the 8.4AN/RA4?

Note: I have the most recent SW update.

Same problem here. Dealer tried updating software and failed. They ordered a new radio.
I Had to call Xm to get radio Id number so they did not have to take dashboard apart in order to get it... I just tried update myself so I would be without a radio for a week and it failed for me as well.. unit 10/unit percent 1/ total per cent 75
 
I did my update today after getting my Ram back from the dealer to perform 4 other updates for the Amp, ASCM, TCM & PCM but of course they didn't know anything about the latest UConnect update. I sort of expected that and I was fine with that since I have done every update for the last 16 months. Mine did take an abnormally long amount of time on item 10 where it hung on 40% for probably 5 minutes then it slowly started counting up again. Once I got through section 10, the last 2 went pretty quickly. I would no doubt blame the dealer if my radio got bricked when they tried to update it when I have done probably 10 updates on it without issues.
