Outside Temperature Threshold for Heated Seats/Steering Wheel to Activate Automatically?

I'm new to heated seats and heated steering wheels. It was 36 degrees here in Minneapolis a couple days ago and I was pleasantly surprised after starting my Big Horn that the heated seats and steering wheel came on automatically. (I leave the climate control on Auto.) I really liked the heated steering wheel. The seats were nice too, but they got hot fairly quickly, had to turn them off. They put these heated handles on snomobiles and snow throwers, it just makes sense to have it on vehicle steering wheels.

Yesterday it was 45 degrees out and they didn't come on.

So that begs the question--at what outside temperature does the heated seats and heated steering wheel automatically activate? Is this setting adjustable?

I believe that someone mentioned last year, that 40F seemed to be the activating point

Page 371 in my manual. Seats and wheel heat at 40, vented seats on at 80

Is this at any time or just on remote start?

If the heated seat/ steering wheel is the same on my truck (I believe it is) as on my old 2014 Charger R/T Plus it comes on both when started by the remote or when started the normal way..

This setting can be configured to come on automatically or not via the big touch screen..

Just change the seat heaters to the low setting once they warmup. Thats what I normally do..

I do love the seats on high though when my back is stiff or sore, very soothing:50:

Mine does not come on unless i remote start it. It was on this morning at 37 F. It has to get down to 40 before it comes on.

Mine comes on as soon as I start my truck (no remote start) when it's around 38F and not 40F like others say.

Mine also come on when below 40, regardless of the starting method. FYI to the OP - this is controlled by settings in your radio, auto climate has nothing to do with it so this will still work if you don't have auto climate turned on. You also can not adjust the temp threshold for this.

Are you sure about adjusting the temp threshold? I haven't saw any place on the Evic for that.

Mine comes on regardless of remote start or regular, and as said...look in the EVIC for settings of on/off.
Temp cannot be changed.

In the Radio if you have the 8.4N, in Uconnect and settings, it will give you the box to check whether heated wheel and heated/cooled seats come on.

The heated seats and wheel come on full if remote start under 40F, the cooled seats seem to come on half if exterior temp is over 70 and full if over 80.

I'll have to check mine when it gets that cold again. If you guys are saying it comes on it must. The more I think about it .I am sure I remote start it most of the time when it's cold.

Found in the apps function where I can change how they operate. In Apps hit auto on comfort function. Mine is set to come on on all starts. I changed it to off but it went right back to all starts after shutting off the truck and restarting. I will have to ask the dealer about it. Don't really need it to come on automatically.

The auto turn on with remote start is sweet on really cold mornings.
