Power Mirror turn-signal cover missing

the clear plastic on the bottom of my driver's side mirror has gone missing. The dealership is telling me $900+ to replace the entire mirror assembly. Presumably the price is so high because the assembly is the power, heated, folding, etc. style of mirror.

My thought is, they manufacture that single piece of plastic somewhere, so I ought to be able to buy just that single piece of plastic.

Is this something I'm going to have to scour junkyards for? I don't think I want to just leave the LEDs exposed on the driver's side, so I need to do something, I'd just prefer it not be a $900+ solution. There is otherwise nothing else wrong with the mirror.

Wow, I've been sticker shocked before at the cost of what I would consider minor automotive parts. This one is up there! I'll be curious how you make out, and at the same time very cautious about those lenses on my truck. Good luck in your search. Hope you can find an alternative to that $900 solution.

Yeah unfortunately the price quote is not a surprise, the tinting fluid in my passenger mirror was starting to turn the glass brown and the dealer and every Mopar parts seller, even online, wanted $240 for just the glass pane. My mirrors are heated, power fold, and auto tinting and have the turn signals/puddle lamps.

Honestly I think the tint feature is stupid and never use it anyway, so for $24 on Amazon I found a heated glass pane without the tint. I like the heated feature so I got it- 1/10 the cost for an OEM replacement.

I am 100% sure others here have replaced just the lens and LEDs after their dealer told them the same thing about having to replace the whole assembly. I know GTyankee did

I'm actually totally fine with the fact that the entire housing and labor to install it is $900. It's got motors to fold it, motors to adjust it, a heater, it's painted, etc.

My issue is that all that i'm missing is the little clear cover on the bottom, that covers up the LED lights. Somewhere, someone, makes that part for Dodge to attach to the mirror, and I don't get why I can't just buy that cover for $8 and snap it on (or glue it, for all I care) and be done.

I had the truck in for some other service and am headed down this morning to pick it up. I'm going to try and make the argument that the part just fell off and it should be covered under warranty.

The 2009 - 2012 mirror is different from the 2013 - newer mirror

The mirrors are basically the same, but the 2013+ are a bit longer

This is a 2009 mirror with everything but the Power Folding function
Using fingers or screw drivers, the mirror comes completely apart

To get at the puddle light
the top of the mirror glass must be rotated out, so that you can put your fingers behind it from the top
Then give the mirror glass a tug towards your chest, if it does not unsnap the first time, do it a bit harder
After the top of the mirror unsnaps, look behind the glass
You will see the lower hooks & 2 wires, the lower hooks have to be lifted out

with the glass set aside you should see the clips that hold in the puddle light

I’m having the exact same issue. Can you send me what you purchased. I can’t seem to find it anywhere. Just the led cover for the turn signal and puddle light fell off same as you. Thanks for your help. Same model year. Only difference is mine is a rebel but I believe the mirrors are the same.
