Hi all!

Just bought an 09 1500 Laramie, previous owner had installed a trailer brake control directly in front of the right knee. As I'm 6'4'', this assembly actually sits right where my knee wants to be to be comfortable.

Where do other tall people have theirs located? I would like to relocate this. My truck has the center console.

Thanks!

The 2009 - 2012 Dodge Ram factory equipped Brake Controllers are mounted just above the Parking Brake Release Handle

Guy in this pic has the factory TB controller too-on the dash right above his key fob

That 2nd pic is exactly the spot the controller is on my truck and it drives me nuts. I've now disconnected it and just the bracket is there, which I will move tomorrow. Was hoping to see some alternative locations that other may have it mounted so that I still retain it's functionality but don't have it banging my knees.

Thanks

My Durango has the controller mounted as you describe but I'm not nearly as tall as you so it's usually not an issue.

My '04 2500 has the controller mounted in the little cubby beneath the HVAC controls. It was there when I bought the truck and there it will stay. I'm not so sure that I would have mounted it there but it's reasonably handy and obviously wouldn't interfere with anyone's knees.
Here' a pic.

I mounted mine in front of my right knee, much like where the OP has his mounted but mine is mounted higher up. I'm also 6'4" and it doesn't get in the way of my leg at all.

How easy is it to plug in and unplug? On my '05, I just kept it in the glove box. Then when I towed, I'd just plug it in and set it in the door pocket.
