It takes 7 quarts if the oil dip stick does not show full after 7 quarts is added then either you are reading it wrong or there is a problem such as not inserting the dip stick all the way or some sort of manufacturing defect better go to the dealer and ask them why? I would not put 8 quarts in though when changing the oil as its overfilled and could cause engine damage.

 

Mine took just under 7 quarts. It was probably 6.85 quarts.

 

7 is the number, unless you have something 'special' going on,,

Correct.

If it is really cold out you might be well below the half way point.
Make sure you're on level ground and not filling up the truck while it's still on stands.

I generally fill to the halfway mark, drive the truck, see where it's at, add if needed.

7 quarts brings mine right to the full mark on my dipstick

 

I put exactly 7 Qrts. And am about an inch over the full circle??

 

Same here... 7qts w/filter = full

 

Seven quarts and my sump is full.
