Are their procedures to place the dash mounted shift dial into Neutral without starting the engine on a 5.7 hemi 4x2 Quad?
I only need to move the truck a couple feet so I can get another vehicle out of the garage.
Thanks for the help.

I believe that the Rotary Shift Knob Rams do have a bypass mechanism
I recall that there was a thread about it with several comments
Surely someone will let you know how to do it

Good Luck

If it is the 8 speed, there is an override, but it's not user friendly....you have to pull a trim pannel to get to the release. It's just above the parking brake, I don't remember the exact details (there is a section in the manual), but it's fairly difficult and I think only designed for emergencies (towing).

No, you can't shift it (using the rotary shifter) out of Park unless the engine is RUNNING. As others have noted, you could use the Manual Park Release, but personally I would not recommend doing that on a regular basis. The MPR is intended for emergency use only (like if you have a dead battery and need to tow the truck), and the actuation lever doesn't seem particularly robust to me. So personally, I would save the MPR for emergencies (or else be very gentle with it).

Ya I tried it and forgot it didn't work like that. I use to put my old truck in neutral when hooking the boat up. I could push or pull the truck to get it fall on there easier. I tried with the ram and left it running in neutral and it went back into park.

My driveway has a down slant to it, so I always go to neutral and let the front tires rest against a concrete slap there before putting in park and was shutting off engine about 20' from the slab. Well.... I found out the second you turn off engine it goes to park, like Right Now To Park. Yes, you have to have engine running to roll while in neutral.
Bubba33, I left engine running and mine stayed in neutral, I even got out and pushed/pulled truck and it still stayed in neutral. Either mine is wrong or yours is right.......
