Absolute worst case manager customer service. I've had to follow up 6 different times over several weeks just to have them tell me my basic warranty has expired. I ALREADY knew this and what a waste of my time. I've put 4k miles on my truck since I purchased it from the dealer and it doesn't sit well that I should have to pay for a module that's known to go bad.

IF you get this person that is following up on your case prepare yourself for the worst follow up and customer service of your life.

I know there are supply chain issues, but this abs/service electronic brakes is evidently a manufacturer issue. My dealer had me pay 50% down before they would order parts, same parts that everyone else is experiencing failure of. Ram needs to step up, I bought my truck because of reputation, I am quickly losing that confidence. This is costing $1100 to fix if and when the can get the parts. Where is the recall? Not safe to drive with that constant beeping and not knowing if brakes will fail when needed!
No kidding, I have the same questions.

Well mine is in now getting fixed. The parts finally showed up after 2 months. We'll see how it goes. Should be ready tomorrow. At least apparently I am getting the "updated" module. I feel sorry for all those who paid to have the bad module replaced with another bad module. This truck has been trouble. As much as I love it I have to say I've been looking at 2nd and 3rd gens. The pickings are pretty slim, but the odd clean one still pops up.

Joining in on this topic as my 2018 Ram 2500 has now started giving these error messages....again. This will be the second occurrence. Of coarse now the truck is out of warranty. It just had it's 4th birthday last week. Wondering how much this is going to cost and if it's going to be an ongoing problem. As many others have stated, FCU should have had a recall and better solution. I have owned Rams since 1996 but if this is going to keep happening, it'll be time to try another manufacturer. Shame, I love the truck but won't keep paying to have the same problem fixed every couple of years.

My dealership is on it's 3rd ownership since purchasing my truck so we'll see what they say.

Yes you probably just had the bad module replaced with another bad.one. They have revised the part. It even has a new number. So that proves they know there's a problem. Point this out to the dealer and ask for goodwill.

I joined to chime in. 2017 Ram 2500 6.4L 88k miles. Intermittent service electronic brakes/abs light. Annoying, dangerous, and ridiculous. Dealer acted like they had never seen it, I let them know what the fix was. $1300 bucks and two weeks later my brakes work properly. Thanks RAM.

I googled and found a class action lawsuit that is in process. I highly recommend getting on board. Love the truck, hate the company.

Same thing when I called the first time. They acted like my truck was the first one it ever happened to. The mechanic told me a different story. He said he changes piles of them.

I just bought my Ram 2500. I've had it about 2 months and having the same issue. It seems like if the truck sits for a little bit the problem goes away. As soon as I hit a bump in the road the issue comes back. It sounds like a loose connection or bad ground but the dealership it recommending replacement of the ABS module and hydrologic pump, and they are charging $1000 to fix it.

I will say my brakes felt like they should after I forked out my grand. Ram is about to have a major major problem with all these trucks hitting the mileage it takea to burn out these defective parts.

Seriously getting sick of this truck. 2018 2500 laramie.. 80,000 miles. As soon as the warranty ran out, everything is going wrong with it... WTF?
Valve body leaked and burnt out the overdrive clutch packs... dealer said I had to replace with new transmission. (Really?) So took it to a trans specialist shop and they rebuilt it. The head unit took an almighty dump and had to replace that. Washer fluid pump and level sensor just gave up one day. Replaced that. So NOW I have an intermittent fault with the ABS flashing and beeping at me, telling me the electronic brake system needs serviced and the ABS needs serviced... even though I have all new rotors, pads and fluids in around 1000 miles ago..
Should never have sold my tundra.

Hello, I'm brand new to this site so it won't let me start a conversation. But I'm having the same issues all the others have posted about. Mine's a 2018 Ram 3500 DRW w/~55k miles. Thank you.

Just bought a 2018 2500 with 61000miles four days ago from a used Chevy dealer and this issue has popped up a couple of times. Not looking forward to an expensive repair already.
Got an appointment with the Ram dealer this week at the Chevy dealers expense. They haven’t committed to paying for repairs yet.

Well folks follow up to my service yesterday at the dealership where I purchased the truck from originally. Service writer was well aware of these issues and told me they have had several Ram's come in with this problem. I left the truck at the dealership and was called some hours later to inform me the truck was done, yes the HCU was bad and needed replacement. He also told me due to the fact I purchased the truck from them and have had most maintenance done there, they worked out a deal for me. In the end new part and labor cost me $200.00.

I posted on this issue Mar 27 2021. Looks like I didn't get rid of my truck fast enough because now at 57,000 miles having same issue again. It seems to have a repeatable pattern of about 20,000 miles. Local dealer and Ram customer support absolutely no help. This has to be a defect in the vehicle. How could I possibly get three bad modules?
