I posted my ABS issue in this thread back in April 2020 and now have the error again. It started a few weeks back and stopped. It started it again this morning. I am now out of warranty and have a Tuesday morning appointment to get it seen about. Looks like I may have gotten a bad part the first time. Maybe this time will I will get an updated part number. I really love this truck. The abs has been the only issue @ 28k miles. Still better than my f150...
 
2018 2500 CTD. Just started ABS/Service Elec Brake system @21k miles. Bought new from dealer. Set up for dealer to diag on friday 170$. Very upset at finding this happening to others all over the forums and other sources. very worried as it is a very serious safety concern. Seems like RamCares has given up huh? Even called and received the most incompetent service rep from Ramcares as well. I am going to put up the biggest fight ever if Ram does not make this right. If I even hear the dealer say any crap like “never heard of this”, I will lose my mind. So, where did ya go Ramcares? Have a vin # for ya to add to the pile.
 
Update...Service advisor called Tuesday morning and said the error codes were for the abs module and hcu. Also recommended brake fluid flush. Truck has 28k miles. I explained to him that this is the second time in two years this has occurred. Will pick the truck up today and was quoted $1,400 for repair. Hard pill to swallow if this happens 2 years or 15k miles. Thanks Ram.
 
I've had my 2018 2500 for a few months, just hit 30k miles. Aside from new batteries it's been great
and I love the cummins, pulls excellent.

But add me to this list... dash lit up with these errors... really annoyed. Especially if I have to cough up 1000 bucks for a well know issue.

@ramcares can you assist?
 
When looking up the ABS HCU, I see that part 68143491AB replaces the same AA part. Does this indicate Mopar released an "AB" part that possibly fixes (Tries to) this well-known issue?

"Ram cares" told me they can't help as the issue has not been looked at by a dealership, ok, the appointment has been scheduled. My local dealer acted as if they had never heard of this issue...
 
Started happening to my 2018 Ram 3500 as well. "Service Electronic Braking System" intermittently flashes, along with the orange ABS and traction control lights. Seems to happen more on bumpy roads, goes away on smoother roads, then randomly comes back. 47,500 miles and purchased new 3 years ago.

I'm going to fight to have Ram pay for this, since out of warranty. Will see if @ramcares can help.

RamCares had me scheduled a diagnostic at my local dealer, ill know more next week.

I had the same exact issue about a year ago on my 2018 2500. The Dealer replaced hcu and abs module. Of course it took weeks to get the parts. A year later, I have THE_SAME_ISSUE again while on a camping trip. Dam RAM. I can't drive the next 2 weeks with this going on. Before I pull the fuse, is it safe to drive without the fuse or with this warning constantly going on/off?

I can't tell you for sure, but I don't see why not. Just realize you won't have traction control, ABD, and maybe cruise...
It's your call.
I'd call the dealer that did the work and get it scheduled so they know it did it again. Then call Ram Cares and file a case.
 
213 dollars later at the dealership, I "officially" know what I already knew. Truck needs a ABS pump... However the part is on order hold... So regardless of who pays for the repair... you can't get the part till possibly NEXT YEAR...

Dealer had another vehicle in with the same issue...

A follow-up to my previous posts regarding my experience with post hydraulic control unit replacement repair performance. I have a 2018 3500 with the HO Cummins and Aisin transmission. After the repair the transmission shifted horribly. Lots of clunky hard shifts, and completely unpredictable when it would happen. I took it back to the dealer and took a test drive with a mechanic and of course there were no funky shifts. I asked him about any software changes that were made with an HCU replacement, and he claimed they would not change anything. Based on other discussions I suspect they reset the ECM and/or TCM while doing the repair so the tranny had to relearn my driving habits. After 8,000 miles it has improved significantly, but still throws the occasional weird shift. The other item of note is that the exhaust brake is not as aggressive as prior to the repair. I have just towed our 10,000# plus travel trailer for over 4,000 miles and the exhaust brake does not work like it did prior to the repair. I have to use the actual brakes far more that previously, and I really have noticed a difference on steep downhills where the truck does not maintain speed as well as prior to the repair. The hour meter also changed after the repair with all the run hours going to zero, and the idle hours maintained. There are other posts about this being an issue and it may not be related to the repair because I was just past the 1000 hour mark when it happened, apparently not an unusual experience. Could be correlation and not causation. I will be trying to get better answers soon on what can be done to improve things.

I know this is an old thread, but my 2017 2500 just started doing this. Had it in at the dealer and they couldn't get me in so sent me across the street. Dealer and second place saw the stored error code. Second place stated the "part" wouldn't be available until December. Sounds like there is more than one part needed I would rather take it through the dealer 1) so there is a record of the repair and 2) we purchased an extended warranty through the dealer that the second place would not honor. Reaching out if you can be of any assistance. I have not followed up with the dealer since September. Concerned that we tow a 7000# camper and the EBS error.

My dealer is facing the same issue. I'm so tired of the dinging... just drove 602 miles... it didn't do it too often... seems to come and go...
I did get 20.7 mpg though... even over two passes, doing 70mph (truck is stock).
